Continuing to add depth to the upper levels of their Minors system, the Mets on Friday signed infielder Matt Tuiasosopo to a Minor League contract. He will report to Minor League camp.
Infielder Matt Tuiasosopo, whose father and brother played in the NFL, has agreed to a minor league contract with the New York Mets. The 25-year-old hit .226 with 14 homers and 77 RBIs in 439 at-bats last season with Seattle’s Triple-A Tacoma farm team. He has a .176 average with five homers and 15 RBIs with the Mariners from 2008-10.
