Both John Maine and Hisanori Takahashi did their job on Friday, more or less. Facing the Indianapolis Indians, Maine threw 88 pitches — 50 for strikes — across 4 1/3 innings in which he allowed one unearned run on one hit and three walks, striking out four. Takahashi, meanwhile, held the Yankees scoreless for six innings, allowing four hits and lowering his ERA to 3.13.
